1. Reading Julia Child's 'My Life in France'; I kind of want to run away to France and really learn how to cook now.

2. I washed the bathroom mat; tomorrow morning I get to step onto a PRISTINE bathroom mat. Obviously, I am unduly excited about this.*

3. I made decent lemon bars and really good pasta-with-endive-and-pine-nuts. God, I love food.

4. Had a really satisfying weekend working on a survey in Central City. And today I did canvassing in Chalmette. Have officially totally gotten over my anxiety about talking to strangers.

5. Saw a documentary on Ralph Nader. I know this isn't the actual take-away message, but he was kind of hot.

6. YOUSSOU N'DOUR is playing here this week.

* Uh-oh. What if Joe, the Roommate of Ghastliness, Mac-and-Cheese, and Back Hair, defiles the bathroom mat before tomorrow morning?
