Victory!

I absolutely freaking love figuring out how things work. Some recent causes of this intense satisfaction:

- Unspooling, respooling, and threading through a typewriter ribbon.
- Writing database instructions IN CODE and seeing the database then do exactly what I wanted!
- Figuring out that if you call a certain other department at my work and one voice picks up, you might as well say 'Sorry, wrong number' and hang up, b/c that voice is useless; but if another voice picks up, you will get the information you need.

(All of these things took some time and repetitive, minute efforts to sort out; there is an absolutely visceral pleasure in realizing you're on the right track to solve a problem.)
