does not, alas, involve cleaning, or anything moderately useful like that. No; it involves noticing and fixating on and being disproportionately vexed by spelling and grammar mistakes. Particularly on cover letters, resumes, advertisements, etc.
Like the flyer in the school elevator about joining the US Public Health service, saying that it's not just a job, it's a 'career that could expand 20 to 30 years.'
Now tell me, why the hell would I want to subject myself to employment in a place where they get 'span' and 'expand' mixed up? What if they apply that level of proofreading to, say, press releases about major public health problems?
