Strong coffee, cold pear tart, Master and Commander*, Ani DiFranco, chilly air, warm rumpled bed, wood floors reflecting the coldly brilliant blue sky.
* I was going to try to say something here about my abiding love for these novels, but honestly they merit something on the order of an essay (well, a paean thinly disguised as an essay.) So suffice it to say that I am rereading the series for perhaps the fifth time and I still laugh out loud or get goosebumps or savour a passage every few pages. And it only isn't every page because I don't understand the technical nautical passages.
