but David Foster Wallace was an amazing writer - I haven't been woman enough to tackle Infinite Jest yet, but I've been reading Consider the Lobster and savouring pretty much every line. (Although it is strong stuff - I can only read so much before I need a palate cleanser of something less quiveringly self-conscious* and riddled, ribboned with meta-analysis.)
* I do NOT mean that as a criticism - being uncommon QS-C myself, I think it is a fabulous quality.
