Anxiety, a dinghy in the bayou, cranberry juice and vodka: NOT a good way to get started.
Shrimp, arugula, peach, and cucumber salad, zucchini fritters*, plum and cornmeal (well, polenta) upside-down cake, used book delivery, figuring out how better to handle anxiety-inducing events: the beginning of redemption.
Farmers' market, blueberry ricotta fritters** and bacon and iced coffee, errands, a salad of spinach + cherry tomatoes + roasted potatoes + rare steak + arugula pesto, yoga, a diminution of anxiety: upswing in sight.
Perfectly toasted 3-day old baguette with that amazing strawberry basil jam and coffee and a smoothie, cleaning, yoga, a movie, so much junk food, a walk in the park, Game of Thrones/Treme doubleheader, decanting and sampling of scrumptious ginger beer, sleep: back again on an even keel, glad for lessons learned.
* I LOVE these fritters. I don't think I've ever included the ham, and I usually grate the zucchini and put in as much basil as I have on hand.
** Same fritter recipe but w/ blueberries folded in instead of the savory stuff. Could have added sugar, but we ate them w/ jam and honey on top so probably not necessary. OOH - putting in a bit of cornmeal might be an interesting twist.
