- OK, people, I get it. ALL OF YOU WANT CHANGE. Some of you, despite being members of government, aren't part of the system and have the ability to change it*; others of you are somehow responsible for whatever change happened while your spouse was president**; and Bill Richardson just straight up loves change***.
I appreciate Clinton's mention of the plight of Iraqis working for the US (I'm sure George Packer does too); I appreciate Edwards' invocation of homeless people; I appreciate Richardson's recognition of the psychological toll of the war. I can't say Obama really made me sit up and take notice tonight, but I'm still rooting for him.
* Well, hegemonies do evolve.
** Although not, presumably, the negative change. I must say, I hadn't realized how articulate she is, and how good at remembering and inserting relevant details.
*** I thought he didn't do a great job. He's managed to win elections and negotiate w/ all kinds of people, so I guess he must have more skill than was on display tonight.
