- This just blows my mind.  And makes me realize how comparatively lucky my generation of women is.

- Today is another grey skies/perpetual downpour NOLA special, but for once I'm not (pointlessly, ridiculously) mad about it.  Because today is a day for peaceful domesticity, for spice cake, for laundry, for tea-drinking, for schoolwork.  And also because I have found that listening to Africando infuses even the bleakest day with some cheer - it's the loveliest flashback to Dakar.
