Wake up while it's still dark outside.
Make scones (using some of last year's satsuma/meyer lemon marmalade.)
Pour coffee. Retreat to living room with beloved old book.
Pull the scones out of the oven shortly after sunrise. Share glad news with family members.
Eat scones, find them delicious.
Go for run/walk. Go extra distance because your only athletic virtue (can't sprint/catch/kick/throw/or even tackle or form part of a scrum or maul/ruck particularly well, if we are honest) is endurance so might as well work with what you've got.
Despite inability to breathe during most of run/walk (and niggling suspicion that scones do not exactly qualify as health food), feel enormous (even blazing) satisfaction in exactly who you are and what you're doing.
